Student Enrollment: 20
Course: Seminar in Cognitive Neuroscience
Proposal: In this course, participants investigate a claim about lifestyle change that reportedly improves cognition using the advanced neuroscience techniques and behavioral measures we study. Typically, students research a topic such as diet, exercise, mindfulness, etc. and write a final report.
To make this project more meaningful, we will take a more interactive, project-based approach to study these claims, taking real-time measurements in the lab before and after to understand their potential effects on cognition. Students will have the opportunity to develop hands-on experience with tools and data to foster deeper understanding through transformative forms of learning. Their studies will culminate in a multi-modal form of communication to relay their research findings to an audience through a podcast, video, or multimedia project.
