    Fall 2025 - CITL Faculty Fellow - Teresa Cusumano, M.A., M.S.

    Title: Language Specialist

College/Department: International Center for Academic and Professional English (ICAPE)

    Course: WRT-003 Composition & Literature I

    Student Enrollment: 24

Proposal: In WRT003, first-year writing students from various majors will engage in a collaborative process to research, write, and produce a multimodal video podcast. While analyzing case studies, researching ethical frameworks relevant to scientific practice, and developing reasoned arguments about science-driven dilemmas, students will sharpen critical thinking, reading, and writing skills.

Students will design a PSA-style video campaign to raise awareness about a specific ethical issue in the sciences and advocate for a particular approach or solution to it.

The CITL will provide support by introducing students to the multimedia production tools needed to complete their video projects. Students will use the Adobe Creative Cloud to create visuals (e.g. infographics), learn to edit video and audio, and publish a completed PSA video. The Digital Media Studio will serve as a valuable resource for lending production equipment (e.g. microphones, video cameras) and a space for students to collaboratively edit their projects.
